Bird - A true story

On a very windy day this winter
a little bird hit the sliding glass door
with a thud.
He sat on the deck and the
wind kept blowing him over,
and he couldn't stand up.
I found a basket
and gently nudged him in to it,
and set it in a place
where he could recover.
The best place
was inside the dog house,
and protected from the wind
he gathered his wits
and was able to
 fly away.

Murder on Lovers' Lane by Paula Graves

MURDER ON LOVERS' LANE is an e-book by Paula Graves, that is currently on sale for 99¢ at Amazon.

Stella Hannigan and Lee Brody are police detectives and longtime partners who are investigating a series of murders in a college town. When all signs point to the college itself, they go undercover to catch a killer. The change of scene brings out more than suspects, and a previously unacknowledged attraction between the couple bubbles to the surface. Can they be more than partners? Terrific writing from Paula Graves as usual, with crisp dialogue and complex characterizations. Stella and Lee are both very appealing characters. Can't wait for the rest of the series and find out where the relationship is heading.

"Don't you feel it?" Brody let his gaze linger on his partner's delicate features a little longer than necessary. "There's evil in the air."
"That's high ozone and particulates," she drawled.
